Old Saybrook, Conn. – Florence Skillings Clough, 79, of Foreside Commons, Old Saybrook, Conn., and Marco Island, Horida, died November 11, 1995 at Hartford hospital after heart surgery. She was a longtime Maine resident.
She was born in Lawrence, Mass., a daughter of Florence C. Rausch and Robert F. Skillings. As a child she went to live with her aunt and uncle, George and Florence Bliss in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She graduated from Waynflete School in 1934 and attended Smith College.
Mrs. Clough for many years volunteered at Maine Medical Center, and oversaw the operation of the canteen. She served as a board member at Sweetser Children’s Home and was a member of the Portland Junior League, the Woodfords Congregational Church and more recently the United Church of Marco.
Surviving are her husband, Reginald Theodore Clough of Old Saybrook, and Marco Island, Fla; two daughters, Mrs. Rudloph (Virginia) Windmuller of Wayne, N.J., and Judith Parker of Cape Elizabeth, Me.; twin son and daughter, Stephen Noyes Dana of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Mrs. Ralph (Sheridan) Robbins of Falmouth; and three granddaughters and three grandsons.
A memorial service was held at Woodfords Congregational Church.
