Rudy S. Clough

Rudy was born to Sumner and Martha (Peterson) Clough on Feb. 4, 1932, in Buxton, where he grew up and attended local schools. Rudy held several jobs during his life. When he was young, he used to help his mother at her store and her dance hall in Joy Valley. He went on to work for Shaw Brother’s Excavation in Dayton, Snow’s Canning Factory in Pine Point, Seamloc Carpet in Sanford and Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, where he worked until his retirement. Rudy was a cat lover. He was an excellent small engine mechanic and enjoyed fixing machines for anybody who asked. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and when he was younger he drove a stock car at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for several years. Rudy was predeceased by his parents and by his aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Ethel Scribner. Surviving are his wife, Carol Clough, of Sanford; his cousin, Barbara Anderson; his sister-in-law, Joyce Chase, of Connecticut; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
