Esther Ava Bradeen
April 28 1915–June 13,2013
Esther was born April 28, 1915, in Brookton, the fifth child of Edward L. and Ethel M. (Armstrong) Clough. She grew up in Brookton and attended local schools. In 1936, she married our father, Cecil “Cy” R. Bradeen and they started their life together in a log cabin in Codyville. They moved to Old Town for a short time before moving to Milford in 1939, where she has resided for more than 70 years. Being a homemaker, she loved her handiwork including quilting, knitting and crocheting. She loved to travel the Maine woods with anyone who would take her, always looking for moose. She was a member of Milford Congregational Church and the Ladies Aid. She always had many friends and belonged to T.D.F. (Ten Dear Friends). She will be greatly missed by her children and their families: daughter, Marge Thibodeau and her husband, Robert, of Otis; son, Shirley Bradeen and his wife, Nancy, of Milford; daughter, Janet Esther Murphy and her husband, Paul, of Orono; grandchildren, Tanya Phillips of Old Town, Jennifer Yerxa and Matt Fortin of Denmark, Ben and Kim Bradeen of Bradley, Veronica and Brian Lachapelle of Hampden and Patrick and Betsy Murphy of Winterport; greatgrandchildren, Kayla, Michael and Laura Noddin, Parker and Braden Harriman, Kaylen and Kilee Bradeen, Erin, Emily, Eliza and Caitlin Esther Murphy of Winterport; special niece, Reta Esther Severance; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, four brothers, and three sisters.
