Another of the early members of our Society was laid to rest on May 11, 1962 in Pine Grove Cemetery in her native Manchester, N. H., where she was born 87 years ago. We recall her story about her father in Bridgewater, NH., that was printed in our Bulletin and read at the reunion in Plymouth.
Mrs. Herridge died at her home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Chandler in Palmyra, N. J., and her body was taken to Andover, Mass., where another daughter, Mrs. Ted Collins resides and a service was held at Christ Episcopal Church there. Many will remember how she and her husband, William, always attended their Episcopal church when they were present at many reunions, often accompanied by their daughter, Mrs. E. K. Lopeman of Schaghticoke, N. Y.
Cousin Leonora loved our Society. She traveled to Portland alone to the reunion, after her husband died. She suffered a crippling stroke soon after, but to the surprise of everyone, her daughter brought her to the Highway Motel in Concord to the Sunday luncheon although she was unable to walk alone at that time.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Eastern Star and kept her alert interest in daily affairs to the last.
The members express their sympathy to her daughters in their loss of a Mother of whom they were justly proud.
