As I begin my term as your President of the JCGS, officially in seventeen minutes from the time I write this, I am prepared to carry on the work set forth by the votes of our members at this year’s reunion on August 21st. I pledge that we will have an open administration from all our officers and I welcome, as well as encourage, every member of our Society to participate in the many operations and projects that we have. For instance, our Web Master and Publications Committee would love to have more member input. These are our best areas to showcase and share all the interesting facts, history, contributions (such as Gwen Bronson’s Cemetery Restoration Project and Sheila Andersen’s completion of Book III) about our Society and its members. We also need to begin our work on the Errata. We’ve had a difficult year, but we gathered together and continue to celebrate the wonderful family we have in the John Clough Genealogical Society. Our new board is made up of some long time members and we are especially excited to have new members on our 2010-2011 Board of Governors. I’d like to welcome, John W. Clough (Treasurer), Melanie Clough Weitz (Secretary), Bill Clough (2nd Vice President) and Ryan Weitz (Member at Large). We are also trying something new this year. We now have a Genealogy Committee and a Publications Committee. If you are interested in lending a hand to either one of these new committees, contact committee members and let them know how you can help. Thank you for your faithful support of our Society and your new Board will continue as we were originally organized to operate and to fulfill the expectations and obligations for all our members.
Respectfully submitted, David Lewis
