A golden wedding of interest was celebrated at North Waterboro, Maine on Saturday, June 9th at the home of Percy and Ina Cluff. Their son and daughter arranged to entertain over 100 guests, mostly their neighbors and friends in their vicinity. Our Society was represented by President Vivian and Husband Erskine Lord. The reception was held in the living-room and the rumpus room was used for the refreshments, thus dividing the groups without confusion.
This is, according to Percy, a school romance that has continued over fifty years, now happily fulfilled by their son and daughter and their six grandchildren. Two comfortable summer cottages have been constructed on the shore of Little Ossipee Pond on land that Percy has owned for many years. Here the son and daughter live in the summer and make daily trips to visit their parents or serve picnics for all three families under the pines at the lake.
Presents were omitted by requests in the invitations, yet the Editor enjoyed a tea last month with many golden dishes in use that guests brought to the wedding. The Bulletin wishes years of happiness to the young and the golden couples.
